About

Technical product manager and agile coach with 10 years across tech, management, and training. The throughline is systems thinking — I find the system producing an outcome and rebuild it.

Omar A. Barakat

Career arc

I started in tech support and then as a trainer, cofounded an EHR startup (Eden Studios), and found my calling at the intersection of product and people. A multi-year run at Easykash — where I moved from Scrum Master to Software Delivery Manager on a fintech product I helped build from scratch — showed me what it means to own something end-to-end. Alongside that, I helped Qasatly design a credit-scoring model for borrowers with no credit history, and built a Udemy course on agile transformation now taught to nearly 5,000 students.

From 2020, I joined Aspire Software (part of the Valsoft group) as an agile coach and eventually moved into the Technical PM role. Aspire acquires software companies — at peak, around 60 in the portfolio — and my job was to bring consistency to how those companies operated. I productized enablement into templates, trained a specialist team, and rolled it out without formal authority over any of the companies we supported.

In 2025 I moved to Wolters Kluwer's Global Business Services unit, where I drive two products: Pegasus and Brainboard.

What I do

Build

I build products and the systems behind them from scratch. At Easykash, that meant going from whiteboard to certified payment gateway — core engine, infrastructure layer, and PCI-DSS Level 1 certification — processing ~1B EGP across 15,000+ merchants.

Fix

When something has broken down — a product, a team, a process — I diagnose root cause before moving. At RentAll (Aspire Software), I traced churn not to bugs but to process failures and trust deficits, rebuilt both, and reversed churn to growth within six months.

Design

I design for problems with no obvious answer — where data is sparse, the user is underserved, and first-principles thinking is the only tool. At Qasatly, that meant building a credit-scoring model from zero in a market with no credit bureau.

Transform & Teach

I make organizations systematically better at shipping — through frameworks, enablement playbooks, and teaching at scale. At Aspire Software, I productized how 60 acquired companies worked. On Udemy, I taught the craft to nearly 5,000 students.
